Qurban Reflections 2020

Alhamdulillah. Another Qurban season has passed, and as we take a moment to reflect, we are filled with gratitude, humility, and amazement.

This year, Tabung Amanah Hati Nusantara (TAHN), though small in size, managed to deliver Qurban meat to four different countries; Malaysia, Arakan (Myanmar), India, and Somalia. The journey to making this happen was not easy, but with the generous support of our donors and the tireless efforts of local NGOs on the ground, we made it possible.

For an organization as small as ours, this achievement is no small feat. Every year, we are reminded that when people come together for a cause greater than themselves, incredible things happen.

Crossing Borders

This year, despite the challenges of a global pandemic and logistical hurdles, we successfully distributed:

🇲🇾 Malaysia – 3 cows

🇲🇲 Arakan (Myanmar) – 12 cows

🇮🇳 India – 42 cows

🇸🇴 Somalia – 29 cows

What started as a small initiative years ago has now grown into something beyond what we imagined. Each number above represents families who received fresh meat, mothers who could feed their children, and communities that shared in the blessings of Eid-ul Adha.

We remember the Rohingyan persecution still happening in Arakan, still living in hardship, struggling for survival. We think of the communities in India, where many families had no means to afford meat. We reflect on Somalia, where poverty and food shortages make Qurban a much-needed blessing. And of course, we were honored to carry out Qurban for families in Malaysia who needed support during these trying times.

More Than Just Meat

When we distribute Qurban, we are not just giving food. We are sharing love, kindness, and the assurance that no one is forgotten. For many of the people we reached, Qurban meat is a rare luxury—something they look forward to once a year, if at all.

This was only possible because of YOU—our donors who, despite their own struggles, chose to give. Some of you gave one portion, some gave more, but together, we made a huge impact.

We also want to express our deepest gratitude to the local NGOs and volunteers on the ground. These are the people who made sure every cow was slaughtered with care, every portion was packed properly, and every family received their share. Their work is not easy, but their dedication is inspiring.

A Heartfelt Thank You

Looking back, we are humbled. TAHN is not a big organization, but we have big dreams—to continue helping those in need, no matter where they are.

And year after year, we see that as long as we have the support of generous hearts like yours, anything is possible.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for trusting us. Thank you for making Qurban 2020 a success. May Allah bless you all for your kindness and grant us the opportunity to do even more next year, InshaAllah.

We pray that this Qurban brings barakah to all—those who gave, those who received, and those who worked to make it happen. Ameen.
