Ramadhan Outreach 2021: Extending a Hand to Five Nations

In 2021, Yayasan Hati Nusantara (YAHN) embarked on a mission to alleviate hunger and provide comfort and hope during Ramadhan. Our efforts spanned across five countries, delivering essential food supplies and iftar meals to communities in need.

Countries Reached

  • Syria: Amidst ongoing conflict, we provided food aid to displaced families in the Idlib Refugee Camps. This ensured they could observe Ramadhan despite the turmoil.
  • Malaysia: Supporting local underprivileged and displaced communities, we distributed food packs to marginalised families facing economic challenges.
  • Arakan: Addressing the needs of displaced populations, our aid brought relief and hope during the holy month.
  • Somalia: In regions affected by drought and instability, we delivered essential food items to sustain families through Ramadhan.
  • Bangladesh (Cox Bazaar): Focusing on refugee camps and impoverished areas, we provided iftar meals and food supplies to those in dire need.

Iftar Meal Initiatives

Recognizing the significance of iftar, we organized programs in:

  • Bangladesh: Serving hot meals to refugees and local communities, fostering a sense of community and support.
  • Syria: Amidst challenging circumstances, we ensured that families had access to nutritious iftar meals, bringing moments of joy and normalcy.

Expanding our Impact: Qur’an Distribution in Malawi

In addition to food aid, YAHN also prioritized spiritual nourishment during this sacred month. Through our Ramadhan Qur’an distribution initiative, we provided copies of the Qur’an to communities in Malawi, where access to religious materials is often limited.

This initiative aimed to:
📖 Empower individuals with the gift of knowledge, enabling them to deepen their connection with the Quran.
📖 Support Islamic education efforts, particularly in rural areas where religious resources are scarce.
📖 Encourage spiritual growth during Ramadhan, ensuring more people could engage in recitation and reflection during this blessed month.

By expanding our Ramadhan outreach beyond food aid, we reaffirm our mission to uplift communities both physically and spiritually.

The 2021 Ramadhan outreach exemplified our dedication to serving humanity, regardless of geographical boundaries. We are profoundly grateful to our donors and partners for their unwavering support. Their contributions enabled us to touch lives and make a difference during such critical times.
